New Signing Ready to Make First Appearance at Parc des Princes
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has confirmed that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is available to make his PSG debut against Reims on Saturday, following his €70 million transfer from Napoli last week.
The Georgian winger was absent from PSG’s 2-1 victory over Lens and was ineligible for their 4-2 Champions League win against Manchester City, but he is now ready to be included in the squad.
“Physically, he is in great shape. We have seen that during training. He is adapting well, and I think he is ready,” Luis Enrique told reporters on Friday.
Kvaratskhelia’s Role in PSG’s Attack
Kvaratskhelia, who was Serie A’s 2022-23 Player of the Season, arrives with high expectations after playing a crucial role in Napoli’s Scudetto-winning campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 34 games.
Luis Enrique highlighted the winger’s versatility, suggesting that he could be deployed alongside Bradley Barcola, who has been in exceptional form this season with 13 goals and 5 assists.
“I can create any type of combination with the seven attacking players. All combinations are possible, as are their synergies,” he added.
PSG’s Unbeaten Ligue 1 Run & Fixture Schedule
PSG remains unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season and currently hold a nine-point lead at the top of the table with 46 points. However, they face a tight schedule, with three matches in eight days, including a crucial Champions League clash against Stuttgart next Wednesday.
“We need to be strong both physically and mentally as we are playing every three days,” said Luis Enrique. “Reims are struggling, but they will be motivated. We need to maintain our rhythm to secure all three points.”
Reims, who sit 13th in the league with 21 points, held PSG to a 1-1 draw in their last meeting in September, proving they can challenge the French champions.
What to Expect from Kvaratskhelia’s PSG Debut
With PSG’s attacking depth, Kvaratskhelia could start on the left wing or come off the bench, depending on Luis Enrique’s game plan. His dribbling skills, creativity, and long-range shooting ability will add another dimension to PSG’s attack as they aim to extend their lead in Ligue 1.
